The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, has paid a condolence visit to the families of two children who lost their lives in a recent flood incident in Eliogbolo community.
The tragic incident, which occurred on Friday, claimed the lives of two teenagers aged 16 and 17.
During the visit, Rt. Hon. Amaewhule, who represents Obio/Akpor Constituency One, expressed deep sorrow over the loss and assured that the State Assembly would take legislative steps to address flooding challenges across the state.
As part of the visit, the Speaker also presented the bereaved families with the sum of two million naira to support them during their time of grief.
