Factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo has commended Gov. Sim Fubara for approving the sum of N85,000 as minimum wage for workers in the State.
Jumbo in a statement on Friday, said the gesture is heartwarming and a very loud reinforcement of Governor Fubara’s unshakeable commitment to the welfare of the people.
He said, “I am delighted to hear of the resolve of the Governor of Rivers State, Amaopusenibo Sir Siminialayi Fubara, GSSRS to conclusively peg the minimum wage of our dear state on 85,000 naira above the national benchmark.
This is heartwarming and a very loud reinforcement of Governor Fubara’s unshakeable commitment to the welfare of the people.
This is the era of the people in Rivers State.
I must commend our Governor for taking this bold step in the interest of the people. Indeed, Rivers money should be for Rivers people, not frivolous donations.
I congratulate all public workers in Rivers State for this significant milestone, just as I sue for more synergy with all arms of the state government towards ensuring unhindered progress of the treasure base of the nation.
