Governor, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has again said he sponsored the removal of Uche Secondus as national chairman of PDP, after sponsoring him against stiff opposition to become chairman of the party.
Wike, said this during the flag-off ceremony for the construction of Eneka -Igbo Etche Road dualisation project on Friday.
According to him, Secondus wanted to be chairman to impose his nephew as governorship candidate of the PDP in the state but, he resisted it and had to know kick him out.
“You wanted to be national chairman first to impose your nephew or your cousin as you may call him to become governorship candidate of PDP in Rivers State. I said not here, it won’t work. We had to kick out first and we did, and you are out,” Wike said.
He also dismissed claims by Secondus that he is not a contractor and never received any contract from the state government, insisting that Secondus got contracts worth N50 billion and had been paid N43.9billion.
