Some persons have been arrested for allegedly attacking officials of the Rivers State Taskforce on illegal Street Trading.
The incident, occurred at the fruit garden axis of D/line and Education Bus stop in Port Harcourt, Today.
Some of the officials in a chat with journalists said they were attacked for carrying out their duties.
They vowed to eradicate all forms of street trading and illegal motor parks in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor local government areas in accordance with the laws of the land.
Meanwhile some residents have condemned the modus operandi of the state force officials, accusing them of harassment.
Governor, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State had dissolved the state Task Force on Illegal Street Trading for allegedly engaging in fights with motorists and street traders.
He had also stated that Government will reconstitute the task force after proper orientation and training.
