The Rivers State Ministry of Education has announced that all primary and secondary schools in the state will resume for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session on Monday, January 5, 2026, following the Christmas and New Year holidays.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Ministry urged parents, guardians, and all stakeholders in education to ignore rumours and false information circulating on social media regarding school resumption dates.
The Ministry also warned that all public and private schools operating in Rivers State must strictly adhere to the government-approved academic calendar, adding that there would be consequences for any institution that fails to comply.
The statement was signed by Dr. Mrs. Azibaolanari Uzoma-Nwogu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education.
