The Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics, STEAM, polytechnic has been passed into law by the Federal House of Representatives.
The bill to establish the institution which will be situated in Tombia, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, was sponsored by Hon. Farah Dagogo, member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency.
STEAM, Nigeria’s first pioneer institution was passed by the House when it was put up for vote by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, on Tuesday.
Sponsor of the bill, Hon Farah during plenary, said: “The Federal Polytechnic, Tombia , Rivers State aims to offer a holistic approach for students to simultaneously exercise from both left and right sides of their brain in creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills that will galvanise them to become champions of the new age.”
