The Movement for Emancipation of Niger Delta, MEND, has accused the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike of being behind what they described as the “unlawful arrest” of Federal lawmaker, Farah Dagogo.
MEND, in a statement on Wednesday, called on the state governor to with immediate effect release Farah Dagogo and, also called on the People’s Democratic Party to call the governor to order.
The group noted that the allegation levelled against Farah is false, and that there was nothing to show that the office of the party in Port Harcourt was attacked.
MEND, described Farah’s arrest as a political witch hunt by Gov. Wike who believes that the lawmaker poses a threat to his choice of successor as governor in 2023.
They described the Federal lawmaker as a good son of Niger Delta and has committed so much to the uplifting of the people of Niger Delta before his foray into politics.
