Rivers State has recorded 11,314 pre-registrations for Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in the first week of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) ongoing registration exercise, placing it 19th nationwide in voter pre-registration.
The exercise, aimed at boosting voter participation ahead of upcoming elections, has seen over 1.3 million Nigerians register so far. Osun State leads with 393,269 registrations, followed by Lagos (222,205) and Ogun (132,823). The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded 107,682, while Oyo State had 66,951.
Other notable figures include Kaduna (61,592), Kogi (58,546), Kebbi (35,009), and Yobe (34,888). The states with the lowest numbers are Ebonyi (261), Imo (481), and Enugu (484).
INEC has urged all eligible Nigerians to participate in the exercise to ensure their names are included in the voters’ register.
