The Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board (RSPHCMB) has announced that the state recorded a 100 per cent pass in the Lots Quality Assurance Survey (LQAS) following the recently concluded Measles and Rubella (MR) mass vaccination campaign.
The campaign, which was held from February 4 to 15, 2026, targeted children between nine months and 14 years of age across the state with the MR vaccine.
Describing the outcome as a historic milestone, the Board stated that this marks the first time Rivers State has achieved a 100% LQAS pass rate, indicating that all Local Government Areas (LGAs) have met the required vaccination coverage benchmark.
According to the Board, the achievement reflects focused leadership, strategic direction and sustained support from its Executive Secretary, Dr Chituru Adele.
It noted that an emphasis on quality, accountability, supportive supervision and measurable results contributed significantly to the success of the exercise.
The 100 per cent LQAS performance, the Board explained, signifies that vaccination teams effectively reached eligible children, monitoring and supervision mechanisms functioned optimally, and reported data accurately reflected activities carried out on the ground.
The RSPHCMB reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the gains recorded during the campaign, strengthening routine immunisation services and continuing to deliver improved healthcare outcomes for children across Rivers State.
The Board also expressed appreciation to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), alongside development partners and donors, for their support before, during and after the vaccination campaign.
