OSPAC camps in Omademe and Igwuruta communities in Ikwerre local government area, Rivers State, were yesterday raided by operatives of Anti-Cultism Unit of the Rivers State Police Command.
We gathered that the operatives stormed the camps and destroyed properties of the local vigilante group, while the members escaped.
This comes days after an Airforce official was killed by an OSPAC member in Omuanwa community in the same LGA.
Meanwhile, the leader of the local vigilante group in Omademe community, Samuel Adele in a statement said they were surprised by the actions of the police.
He explained that they have no issues with the police and wondered why they decided to raid their camps. Samuel also called on relevant authorities to call the anti-cultism unit to order.
