The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the discovery of a 12-year-old girl, identified as Blessing Gift, who was found wandering under the Uzuoba Bridge in Port Harcourt late on Saturday night.
According to the Command, the girl was spotted around 11:45 p.m. on June 28, 2025, and taken in for questioning. She reportedly disclosed that she was brought to the area by an unidentified woman who abandoned her in a house for two days before disappearing.
Blessing, who hails from Kalaya Compound in Unyeada, Andoni Local Government Area, is said to be mentally stable and coherent. She speaks both Andoni and English fluently, and there are currently no indications of kidnapping.
The police said efforts are underway to trace her family and have alerted the Control Room for broader dissemination of the information.
