The Rivers State Police Command has approved the deployment of a tactical team from the Force Headquarters to tackle escalating criminal activities in Eleme Local Government Area.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, made the announcement during a meeting with Eleme LGA Chairman, Chief Brian Gokpa, and other stakeholders at the state police headquarters in Port Harcourt. He acknowledged the security challenges in the area and assured residents of intensified efforts to restore peace.
CP Adepoju also revealed plans to collaborate with local authorities in setting up a security outfit to work alongside the police. He urged community leaders, religious heads, and stakeholders to cooperate with security agencies in addressing crime.
Additionally, CP Adepoju introduced a dedicated contact channel for residents to report security concerns or submit anonymous petitions to aid police efforts.
