The Rivers State Police Command has announced the deployment of security personnel to churches, recreational centres, major parks, highways, and other vulnerable areas across the state to guarantee a calm and incident-free Easter celebration.
According to the Command, tactical units and divisional teams have been fully mobilized to deter criminal activities and enable swift responses to any potential security threats.
The Command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Chief Superintendent of Police, made this known in a statement released in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
She added that the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, reassured residents and visitors of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He also urged the public to remain vigilant and maintain law-abiding conduct.
Iringe-Koko further encouraged residents to cooperate with security agencies by sharing timely and credible information to support prompt intervention when necessary.
