The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has commended the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Hon. Chidi Lloyd, for what he described as remarkable achievements within his first 100 days in office, following the inauguration of a Joint Military Task Force (JTF) Base in Obelle community.
The JTF Base, constructed by the Emohua Local Government Council, was inaugurated on Friday at a brief ceremony attended by heads and representatives of various security agencies, marking the climax of infrastructure projects executed to commemorate the chairman’s 100 days in office.
Speaking at the event through the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Ahoada Area Command, ACP Sanny Bashir, CP Adepoju said the conception and completion of the Obelle JTF Base within such a short period underscored Sir Chidi Lloyd’s commitment to security and development.
According to him, the facility represents a significant step towards strengthening security, stability and rapid response operations in Obelle and surrounding communities. He added that the establishment of the base reflected the collective dedication of security agencies to the protection of lives and property across Rivers State.
The police commissioner further reaffirmed the commitment of the armed forces and other security agencies to crime fighting and community policing, while urging residents of Obelle to support and cooperate with personnel that would be deployed to the base.
The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by representatives of security agencies, members of the Emohua Legislative Council and top officials of the local government. The council chairman was accompanied by his wife, Lady Divine Adanma Chidi-Lloyd.
