The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan has reacted to allegation of age falsification levelled against him by a Port Harcourt based online news platform
The state Police Boss in a chat with journalists yesterday described the accusation as “baseless and false” while stating that it is the handiwork of unscrupulous elements bent on tarnishing his image.
The online news platform had alleged that the CP was born on June 21, 1960 according to his international passport and not 1962 as he claims, and should have retired five months ago.
However, Mukan in a statement yesterday noted that the June 21, 1960 date of birth on his international passport was a mistake which was why he approached the court for a sworn affidavit.
He also berated the news platform for the unconfirmed publication, which he described as wicked and ill-motivated.
