The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, psc, mnips, has received 129 newly passed-out police constables from the Police Training School (PTS), Calabar, Cross River State.
Addressing the officers at the State Police Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, CP Adepoju urged them to view their enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force as a noble call to national service. He encouraged them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity while discharging their duties.
He congratulated the new officers and advised them to steer clear of all forms of misconduct, including indiscipline, extortion, corruption, illegal duties, and human rights violations. The police chief warned that any act contrary to the ethics of the force would attract strict disciplinary action.
The Commissioner noted that the new constables, who received comprehensive training in various aspects of policing, would undergo further capacity-building to enhance their operational competence.
CP Adepoju further disclosed that all 129 constables are indigenes of Rivers State and will be deployed to their respective Local Government Areas in line with the Inspector-General of Police’s directive on strengthening community policing. He assured them of his continuous support as they begin their careers in the Force.
