The Rivers State Police Command on Thursday, July 18, 2025, held a special interactive session with retired officers under the Rivers State Chapter of the National Association of Retired Police Officers, aimed at strengthening ties and addressing welfare concerns.
The meeting, held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Old GRA, Port Harcourt, was led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, who assured the retirees of the Command’s commitment to enhancing their living standards.
In his keynote address, CP Adepoju emphasized the importance of supporting retired officers and sought their cooperation in ongoing initiatives aimed at improving their welfare. He also outlined plans by the Command to better understand and address the needs of former personnel.
The session was attended by several senior retired officers, including AIGs (rtd.) Dr. Mrs. Abuwa Adenike and Mrs. Peterside Tamunomie, who pledged their support for the Command’s efforts and expressed willingness to collaborate on future welfare programs.
The Command, through its spokesperson SP Grace Iringe-Koko, expressed gratitude to the retired officers for attending the session on short notice and for their valuable input during the deliberations.
