The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Police to deepen collaboration with the Nigerian Army in maintaining peace and security across the state.
CP Adepoju made this pledge on Tuesday, October 8, 2025, when he received the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Garrison Division and Sector 3 Joint Task Force (JTF) South-South Operation Delta Safe, Brigadier-General A.A. Bello, at the Police Headquarters in Port Harcourt.
Brigadier-General Bello, who recently assumed duty as the new GOC, said his visit was to formally introduce himself to the Police Command and strengthen the existing cooperation between the two security agencies. He commended the Police for their continued support and pledged to build on the legacies of his predecessor by enhancing joint operations and inter-agency coordination.
In his remarks, CP Adepoju expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as symbolic and a demonstration of unity in the state’s security architecture. He acknowledged the Nigerian Army’s vital role in sustaining peace and combating crime, noting that collaboration between the Police and the Army is essential to safeguarding critical infrastructure and ensuring a peaceful environment.
The meeting, he added, aligns with broader strategic efforts to reinforce synergy among security agencies in Rivers State.
