The People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State, says Prince Uche Secondus is no longer the National Chairman of the party as he has been suspended.
Chairman of the party in the state, Desmond Akawor said this during a radio interview in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
He said Secondus was suspended by his ward and that his suspension was ratified at the local government and state levels, for not being financially committed to the party among other issues.
Akawor, disclosed that the party discovered he was not paying his dues after he directed ward chiarmen to furnish him with a list of erring members.
He said the party’s constitution stipulates that failure to pay membership dues for more than six months is a serious offence, which the party frowns at.
Akawor, also alleged that members of the party in his ward were divided due to unresolved issues.
He said all these were reported to elders of the party who intervened, and that the issues caused great embarrassment.
