The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has congratulated Alhaji Muhammad Abdulraman on his emergence as the new factional Acting National Chairman of the party, expressing optimism that his leadership will restore stability and strengthen internal democracy within the party.
In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron, the party described Abdulraman’s appointment as a timely move that signals renewed commitment toward repositioning the PDP as a formidable opposition in Nigeria’s political landscape.
The statement noted that in recent times, the PDP has struggled with internal controversies and a declining focus on its core values. The Rivers State chapter expressed confidence that the new leadership would rebuild the party into one where the rule of law, equity, and national unity are upheld — in line with the ideals of its founding fathers.
“We urge Alhaji Muhammad Abdulraman to stabilize the party and promote competence and people-oriented policies that will strengthen the party’s structures at all levels,” the statement read. “The PDP must return to its pride of place as a party with a solid foundation, capable of offering credible governance alternatives.”
The Rivers PDP further pledged its support to the National Working Committee, calling for an all-inclusive leadership approach that prioritizes unity and progress.
“Once more, we heartily congratulate the Acting Chairman and members of the National Working Committee as they embark on this new chapter of vision and repositioning,” the statement added.
