Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, were yesterday allegedly attacked by supporters of Sim Fubara, Governorship flagbearer of the People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State, for attempting to arrest him.
The incident, reportedly occurred when Sim and his supporters landed at the airport in Abuja, to receive his certificate of return from the party.
Sources say supporters of Fubara attacked the operatives and prevented them from whisking him away.
Sim Fubara and three other officials of the Rivers State Government are wanted by the commission for alleged financial fraud.
The commission and the Police were yet to react to the incident as at the time of filing this report.
