A former youth leader in Onne, Rivers State, identified as Amasi Victor was today, gunned down by unknown gunmen.
Amasi, was reportedly killed during the Onne youth council election.
The deceased, a graduate of the now Rivers State University, was an active youth leader in the community.
He had in a statement yesterday, commended some youths of the community for not supporting a particular aspirant for the council election.
“To all the Onne Youths who turned his calls, his threat to take away your jobs, if you refused to support his candidate in your forthcoming Youth Election down, and to those who refused his offer, you are the reason for the Easter Celebration. May all you stand to believe no matter the intimidation attached be fruitful and stronger to you all as Christ rise in Majesty, he had said.
