South South Coordinator of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu, BAT Vanguard, Chief Tony Okocha has accused the former chairman of the Tinubu/Shetima Grassroot Independent Campaign Council (ICC) in Rivers state, Augustine Nwokocha, of misappropriating N65 million meant for the 2023 presidential election in the state.
Okocha, made the allegation in a statement in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
He said few days to the presidential rally in Port Harcourt, N55 million was donated to the party by the owner of Belema Oil, Tien Jackrich while N10 million was sent by the national body of the ICC
According to him, Wokocha has been unable to account for the money, and when confronted, he responded that he handed over the N10 million to Senator Magnus Abe, who was the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the state at the time.
Reacting, Wokocha said he would not banter word with Okocha – who is not a member of the party.
He also said if Okocha wanted the financial report of the funds, he should write to him and he will respond.
He vowed not to condescend to Tony Okocha’s level.
“I don’t want to banter words with him. Tony Okocha is not a member of the APC. He belongs to the PDP. He was very prominent during the governor’s inauguration,” he said.
