The Rivers State Government says concrete columns is being launched on the Obodih-Ozochi Road/Bridge project. The bridge is 200 metres long and will have 70 continuous flight auger piles, and 80 beams.
The road has a total length of 11.2km road, that will have between 750 millimetres to 1000 millimetres sand filling. There is going to be soil cement stabilisation, stone base of 150mm thick, binder course of 60mm thick, and wearing course of 40mm thick, so the total pavement thickness will be 100 millimetres.
The state commissioner for Works, Dr. Dax George-Kelly said this during the flag-off of the project in January.
He said the project that will connect coastal communities to the mainland for the first time in their existence was started by the immediate past administration and rapidly being continued with by the administration of Sir Siminalayi Fubara.
He stated that Obodih-Ozochi Road/Bridge project is one of the major projects Governor Fubara is working round the clock to ensure they are completed on schedule.
