The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) will on Sunday, August 18, 2024 bestow on the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, Champion of Peace Award as part of activities marking the 2024 Press Week of the Union.
Kevin Nengia, Secretary, Press Week Committee in a statement said the award, which will be presented by the President of the NUJ, Comrade Ikechukwu Isiguzo, seeks to honour the governor for his exemplary leadership and peaceful disposition.
Kevin stated that the grand finale of the week-long celebrations will also witness presentation of lifetime achievement awards and recognition of excellence to over 50 journalists.
Journalists are enjoined to attend the two programmes scheduled for Sunday.
