The Chairman of the Rivers NUJ Council, Stanley Job, has commended Governor, Sim Fubara, for his support towards press freedom in the state.

This was during the celebration of the 2024 Press Week by the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Rivers State Council on Wednesday.

Job, in a statement appealed to the Governor to rehabilitate the NUJ Secretariat.

On his part, Governor Fubara, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information, Joe Johnson, advised journalists in the state to uphold the ethics of the profession in ensuring that democracy thrives while calling for good governance.
