The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Rivers State says it will shutdown the state in line with the directive of its National leadership. This is if nothing is done by the Federal Government to reverse the hike in petroleum products and electricity tariff.
Chairperson of the NLC in the state, Beatrice Itubor made this known in a statement in Port Harcourt yesterday.
The NLC had called on its members to embark on an indefinite strike from Monday if the federal government fails to heed to its demand.
Meanwhile, the meeting between the federal government and the organised labour yesterday to stop the planned strike ended in a deadlock.
