The Rivers State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has threatened industrial action, if the Wike-led administration continue to treat the issue of workers welfare with kid gloves.
Chairperson of the Union in the State, Beatrice Itubor in a chat with journalists yesterday said, if the government fails to do the needful, they will have no other option than to execute an industrial action.
Itubor who noted that they are consulting with the national leadership of the union on the planned action, said the government has continued to short change civil servants in the state.
Itubor stated that, despite being the “engine room” of the state, they have continued to live in penury in the midst of plenty. She said, they will continue to agitate until their demands are met.
