The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), in collaboration with the Honour Father and Mother Foundation, organized the Help the Girl Child program, themed Girl Vision for the Future, at the Justice Mary Odili Judicial Institute in Rivers State.
Speaking at the event on behalf of NDDC’s Managing Director, Dr. Mrs. Pat Ezugwu highlighted the importance of girls’ education and empowerment, urging students to embrace digital learning and represent the Niger Delta and Nigeria positively.
The program included demonstrations on health and hygiene practices, with hygiene kits distributed to students. Ezugwu reiterated NDDC’s commitment to fighting harmful practices such as female genital mutilation and early marriage, emphasizing that education is key to overcoming poverty.
The initiative aimed to equip girls with the knowledge and resources needed to secure a better future.
