The Rivers State chapter of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) has called on the Rivers State Police Command to effectively investigate and prosecute one of its officer alleged to have raped a widow in Sakpenwa, Tai, LGA.
The Bar made this known through its Vice Chairman, Anthonia Osademe in a statement yesterday in Port Harcourt.
She said they will ensure justice is served on the matter as from the story given by the widow, it is clear that, it is a rape case, which is a criminal matter.
Osademe noted that the victim had reported the matter to its Human Rights desk. She, therefore, called on the Police hierarchy not to cover up the matter.
