The Navy says two suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction of one Mr. Raymond Ayibacake in Asarama, Andoni local government area of Rivers State.
The Navy in a statement said the suspects were arrested when it rescued the victim – a captain of a local tugboat towing a barge from Ikot Abasi through the Bonny River.
According to the Guardian, the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB), in Bonny, Rivers State received information about active kidnap incident and responded to the crime scene, arresting two suspects, Mr. Francis Chukwu and Mr. Destiny Isaac Augustous, while other culprits fled.
Narrating his ordeal, Ayibacake said that he was abducted by hoodlums who disguised as pipeline surveillance workers in the area.
