The Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) has announced that its monthly environmental sanitation exercise will hold on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
The exercise, which was initially scheduled for last week, was postponed due to the conduct of the local government elections.
RIWAMA Chairman Samuel Nwanosike, confirmed the development in a statement. He said there will be a restriction of movement from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., except for persons on essential duties who have been cleared by the agency.
Nwanosike urged residents to comply with the directive and fully participate in the exercise. He also warned that RIWAMA will carry out sanitation on any premises that fail to comply, with the cost charged to the occupants.
Riwama should ensured compliance and effective monitoring.
