A man identified as “Doctor” has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing his lover, known as Ima, to death in Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt.
The incident occurred on Sunday night, August 17, 2025, at Okereke Street, following a heated argument over allegations of infidelity. Witnesses said the suspect accused the woman of cheating, which led to a confrontation during which he reportedly stabbed her with a knife.
The caretaker of the compound, upon discovering the situation, rushed to the Azikiwe Police Division to lodge a complaint. Police officers subsequently apprehended the suspect.
By Monday morning, August 18, a large crowd of sympathizers and onlookers gathered at the Azikiwe Police Division when the victim’s body was brought to the station.
The police later moved the remains to an undisclosed mortuary shortly after arrival at the station.
