The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, says it has received a letter from the All Progressives Congress, that the party will not participate in the forthcoming April 17, local government elections in the state.
Chairman of the Commission, Retd. Justice George Omereji made this known when members of the House of Assembly committee on commissions and agencies, visited him today.
He said production of sensitive and non-sensitive materials have reached conclusive stages.
Justice Omereji also said that the withdrawal of the APC, will not affect preparations for the election as it is preparing for the other political parties.
In addition, he said some staff and adhoc staff have been trained for the forthcoming poll.
