The Rivers State Police Command has declared its readiness for Saturday’s Local Government Elections.
State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, made the announcement during a media chat with service chiefs at the headquarters of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.
Adepoju said the command has “sanitized” the state through the arrest of suspected criminals, raids on criminal hideouts, and extensive training of personnel to ensure they understand their duties on election day.
He assured residents of adequate security during the elections and urged all stakeholders to adhere to the rules throughout the electoral process.
