The 74 political parties excluded by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), have threatened to sue the commission, if they fail to include them on the list of political parties to participate in the forthcoming local government elections.
The parties in a joint statement, said being registered political parties, RSIEC has no right to exclude them from the ballot.
They have also gone ahead to conduct their chairmanship and councillorship primaries, in line with the directives of the commission.
RSIEC, had excluded the 74 political parties from the list of parties to contest, stating that they were not included on the list sent to them by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).
