The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission RSIEC, has said that the logo of the All Progressives Congress, will appear on the ballot paper, for the April 17 local government elections.
The Commission, which disclosed this in a statement today, stated that though the party’s logo would appear, no candidate will be recognized.
RSIEC said it had already printed the ballot papers for the election, before the Supreme Court ruling.
“APC logo will appear on ballot papers because we have already printed before Supreme Court judgement but no APC candidate will be recognized,” it said.
The leadership of the APC in the state, had written to RSIEC, requesting the logo of the party, be removed from the ballot papers for the local government poll.
Former Caretaker Chairman of the party, Victor Giadom had also said they will sue RSIEC, if the logo of the party appears on the ballot.
