The Rivers State Judiciary has denied any involvement of Justice Boma Diepiri or any judge of the State High Court in a reported judgment concerning suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, President Bola Tinubu, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
In a statement released by the Chief Registrar of the High Court of Rivers State, David Ihua-Maduenyi, the judiciary dismissed as false an online report alleging that Fubara won a case at the Federal High Court that resulted in the removal of the Sole Administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, from the Government House.
The report falsely claimed that Justice Diepiri presided over the matter and declared the appointment of a sole administrator following the removal of an elected governor illegal, null, and void.
Ihua-Maduenyi clarified that Justice Diepiri serves on the Rivers State High Court, not the Federal High Court, and is currently on Easter vacation, which began on Monday, April 14, 2025. He described the report as misleading and accused the author of displaying “crass ignorance” regarding the distinct roles of the Federal and State High Courts.
