The Rivers State Judicial Commission of Inquiry on Police Brutality says the commission received 117 petitions, making it the highest across the country.
Chairman of the Commission, Retired Justice Chukwunenye Uriri made this known yesterday during the inaugural sitting of the commission.
He said the commission would judiciously address all petitions that has been brought before it. Hearing commences today, and ends December 30, 2020.
He assured that the commission would do all within its powers to ensure justice is served.
Meanwhile, the Port Harcourt Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) during the inaugural sitting said the body is ready to offer free legal services to anyone who is unable to get a legal representative.
