Governorship candidate of Accord party in Rivers State, Dumo Lulu-Briggs says he probably would have been governor of the state a long time ago if he felt that violence can be a part of the political process.
Dumo, who said this in a statement days after the attack on his convoy at Igbo-Etche, said he is not prepared no matter the temptation to get involved in violence.
According to him, he will not arm or encourage his supporters to resolve to violence despite attacks on opposition parties in the state.
“I probably would have been governor a long time ago If I felt that this tools can be a part of our electoral process. No! It cannot be,” he said.
“I am not prepared no matter the temptation to get into anything outside the law. I will not give any youth even a pen-knife to put in his pocket and follow me in my campaign. Rivers State should not be a theatre,” he added.
He also described the forthcoming elections as a defining moment in the political history of Rivers State.
