The Rivers State House of Assembly has approved a request for an N18 billion loan to be used by the state government for the construction of a flyover at the GRA junction.
The loan which is expected to be acquired from Access Bank, will be fully repaid before the end the current administration through the IGR of the state, according to the letter sent by the governor to the house.
Rt Hon Ikunyi Ibani, Speaker of the House of Assembly read the letter at the beginning of plenary. The governor in the letter noted that the loan would also cover the dualisation of the Mummy B to Stadium road, dualisation of Tombia to Ikwerre road, payment of ancillary facilities and others.
All the lawmakers present at the sitting voted in favour of the N18 billion loan request.
