The National Association of Primary Healthcare workers in Rivers State, has lamented the failure and refusal of the government to heed to their demands.
Chairman of the association, Atiemie Daniel in a statement at the weekend issued a 21-day ultimatum to the government to pay the new National minimum wage and ensure promotion of primary healthcare workers, or face strike action.
According to him, healthcare workers have not been promoted in the last 10 years.
“Non-promotion of primary health workers in Rivers State for over a decade, non-payment of Consolidated Health Salary Structure to primary health care workers in Rivers State,” are some of the issues on ground.
