Governorship Candidate of Accord Party in Rivers State, Dumo Lulu-Briggs has withdrawn his appeal at the Supreme Court challenging the victory of Gov. Sim Fubara of the PDP.
Dumo made this known in his 2024 new year message signed by his media aide, Nia’Bari Fakae.
According to him, the gesture was his contribution at reducing tension in an overheated Rivers polity, adding that it is a token of his commitment to a peaceful Rivers State.
Dumo lamented that 2023 was a very difficult year for many Rivers people during which their livelihoods and security were compromised.
He warned that the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, if not halted, would further worsen the lot of the people.
He however, commended Rivers people for standing resolute against undemocratic and unconstitutional tendencies, while wishing them a happy new year.
