Former deputy speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, Hon. Leyii Kwanee has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal and state government to fix the Eleme section of the East West Road.
Kwanee, disclosed this in a statement Today following an accident that claimed lives on the road few days ago.
He threatened to paralyze activities on the road with Civil Society Organizations and members of his party across the 23 local government areas
“If Pres Buharis led FG and Governor Nyesom Wike led RSG fails to fix the Eleme section of East West road in 21 days, I will mobilize civil society, ZLP members across the 23 LGAs in Rivers State and we will paralyze activities on that road,” he said.
Also, Ogoni Youth Federation has also threatened to shut down the road if it is not fixed.
The Federal Government had promised to fix the road in two weeks time during the last protest on the road few months ago.
