The Rivers State Government has unveiled the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), aimed at expanding access to healthcare for residents, particularly vulnerable groups.
Speaking at the official launch and sensitisation town hall in Ogale, Eleme, the Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala, said over 400,000 residents have so far enrolled in the scheme. She, however, expressed concern that many enrollees have been unable to access healthcare services regularly.
Agala stressed that the programme underscores the state government’s commitment to prioritising the health of its people.
