Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Tony Okocha has again called on governor Sim Fubara to begin preparations for the conduct of local government elections in the state.
Okocha, who made this known in a statement on Thursday, said there is no room for the appointment of caretaker committee chairmen in the LGAs.
According to him, the governor should as a matter of urgency commence preparation for the election as the tenure of the serving chairmen will soon elapse.
Recall that one of the resolutions reached in the peace deal brokered by President Tinubu was for the governor to conduct LG elections and not to appoint caretaker chairmen.
