The Rivers State Government, says the panel set up to investigate causes of three separate fire incidents last week, in the state, has submitted its report.
Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Onowu confirmed this during a chat with journalists yesterday.
He said the report was submitted last week and that the government is set to implement all recommendations of the panel.
He added that the three fire incidents were caused by illegal oil refining popularly known as “Kpo Fire.”
Onowu said it is difficult for the state government to stop such activities as petroleum products are controlled by the Federal Government.
He also said state governors do not control security operatives and that if security heads are given marching orders to stop the menace, they would have no choice than to put an end to the illegal act.
