Hundreds of women from Umuechem Community in Etche Local Government Area yesterday, staged a protest to the government house and the police headquarters at Moscow road, Port Harcourt.

The women who paraded several placards lamented that they might die of hunger following the activities of land grabbers who have taken over their farmlands

They said they no longer have land to farm on and could no longer fend and send their children to school as their lands which they said is their major source of livelihoods have been taken over by persons from neighbouring Igwuruta community in Ikwerre LGA of the state.

They called on the government to intervene as the matter is beyond them.
