The Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise will henceforth hold on the last Saturday of every month.
Chairman of the agency, Samuel Nwanosike, disclosed this during his inaugural meeting with members of the board on Friday.
He stressed that only RIWAMA has the authority to issue clearance passes for those on essential duties during the exercise, urging all such persons to seek clearance directly from the agency.
Nwanosike further invited managers of markets, motor parks and industries, to a crucial meeting slated for August 27.
The chairman appealed to residents of Rivers State to support the agency’s efforts, noting that RIWAMA is committed to restoring Port Harcourt to its Garden City status.
