The Rivers State Ministry of Education has announced that the State Education Quality Assurance Services (SEQAS) will begin routine and follow-up assessments in all public and private schools immediately after the resumption of the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. (Mrs.) Ndidi Chikanele Utchay, the assessments will focus on compliance with educational standards, the quality of teaching and learning, curriculum implementation, infrastructure, and the welfare of students.
The Ministry directed all schools to make necessary preparations and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements. It also warned that applications for school approvals and upgrades must be submitted directly to the office of the Permanent Secretary, stressing that negotiations with individuals or agents would no longer be tolerated.
The statement further appreciated the cooperation of stakeholders, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to maintaining high educational standards across the state.
